He falls in with a small band of guerrillas and fights his way back to the 95th Rifles. The account makes a nice short novel (and is bound with another from the same period, "The Gun").4/5.

Would you listen to Death to the French again? Why? This is a great thrilling adventure story told carefully from the author of the Hornblower series. Forester tells great stories and it is hard to miss with any of his books-and he has written more than just Hornblower!
